Taylor Swift was the musical guest and the host on Saturday Night Live this weekend.  I thought she was fantastic.  In fact, I really wasn’t expecting her to have such a good sense of humor nor did I expect her to be so rough with some of her jokes.  Her monologue contained some references to the incident with Kanye West and the rumors about her love life (with both Joe Jonas and Taylor Lautner) so if you haven’t seen it, check it out.

This weekend, Saturday Night Live welcomed back former cast member, Tracy Morgan and, overall, it was a pretty funny episode.  I had gotten used to seeing the show poke fun at the Today show (see two skits here and here) and was pleasantly surprised to see them spoofing The View.  Tracy portrayed Sherri Shepherd who didn’t seem to know what anything was about (at one point, she claimed to not know what “research” meant).  Of course, they had Kristen Wiig do a very annoying impersonation of Elisabeth Hasselbeck which was actually pretty funny.

I was laughing hysterically when Today show host, Hoda Kotb, sat down with Billy Bush this morning and they talked about their weekends (Hoda spent time in Florida with co-host, Kathie Lee Gifford, who is currently on vacation) and a host of other things but, of course, they had to bring up the hilarious Saturday Night Live sketch that took direct aim at the pairing of Hoda and Kathie Lee on the morning talk show.  One cameraman was laughing so hard when they showed the clip that Hoda had to tell him that “it wasn’t that funny” a couple times.  …read more

‘>Saturday Night Live took direct aim at Today show co-hosts, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb again last night during a skit.  I have to admit that Kristen Wiig (as Kathie Lee) is one of my favorite female SNL cast members ever and it’s comedic timing and acting like this that proves how talented she is.  She’s perfect as Kathie Lee whom I find just really difficult to watch.

This weekend on Saturday Night Live, they decided to poke fun and parody the Today show’s Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford.  I think they did an excellent job since this is basically, exactly how I see the pairing.  Kathie Lee always goes a little off the deep end and verges on obnoxious/insulting while Hoda tries to reel her in and, at least, appear to be professional.
