On Dr Phil: Nadya Suleman vs Gloria Allred
March 25, 2009 by Jeanne
Today on Dr Phil, the most famous mother of octuplets, Nadya Suleman, is set to take on attorney Gloria Allred. The issue is that Gloria represents Angels in Waiting, and organization that had offered free nannies to Nadya to help care for her babies (and the six children she already had at home). The childcare workers filed three separate reports to Child Protective Service and Allred believes that is the reason why Nadya has decided to fire the nannies.
Nadya disagrees with that reasoning and said “The primary issue was that myself [sic] and my nannies felt extremely uncomfortable. I …read more
“Octomom” Squares Off With Dr. Phil, Provides Answers to Rumors
March 11, 2009 by Jeanne
Nadya Suleman, the mother of the world’s most famous octuplets, was on the Dr. Phil show yesterday and will return today. This is different from her appearance last month when she was interviewed off-site, away from the studio audience. I’m guessing that, for the sake of drama, Dr. Phil decided it was time for her to head down to the studio and air out her serious problems. Previously, I refused to refer to her as the “Octomom” because I thought it was a slightly mean term used by the all-intrusive media but, clearly, this woman does not really want to …read more
Octuplet Mom Tells Dr Phil That Hospital May Not Release Babies
Nadya Suleman, a.k.a. the “Octomom” (I hate that term) was on Dr Phil yesterday and today and I really don’t know what to think about the interview.

On the one hand, I feel that Dr. Phil did, at least, try to treat Nadya fairly which is important given all of the irresponsible reporting I’ve seen surrounding this story. On the other hand, he was still the same old sensationalist Dr. Phil that we know and love (or hate).
One positive thing that stood out was that he asked for his viewers to put aside their judgments and …read more
Octuplet’s Grandfather Wishes Nadya Hadn’t Done Today Show Interview
February 24, 2009 by Jeanne
Earlier this month, Nadya Suleman, sat down and talked with Ann Curry for an interview that was broadcast on the Today show (watch the interview). The erstwhile “Octomom” wasn’t treated fairly, according to her father Ed Doud, and he wishes she had never done it. He has a couple valid points. He argued that the interview happened too quickly after the new mom had given birth: "They took her out of the hospital by midnight to a secret location," he told Oprah Winfrey on today. "They did not even give her a chance to rest, to sleep, where she’s …read more
Dr. Phil Tackles Octuplets Debate – Discuss
February 12, 2009 by Jeanne
By now, you’ve heard the story of Nadya Suleman, the woman who gave birth to octuplets in California last month. The story was originally praised as miraculous until it was discovered that the unwed, unemployed new mother already had six children at home – all conceived through in-vitro fertilization. Once that was revealed, the entire situation (and the mother) came under scrutiny.
Of course, there have been a lot of good points – being a single mother is tough with one or two children, how will Nadya fare with 14? Is it right to bring so many children into the …read more
