Talk show host, Oprah Winfrey, got to reunite with her friend, First Lady Michelle Obama, at Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2009 event at the Lincoln Center in New York City.  Both ladies made the list this year and I’m not surprised since they played a major role in the election of President Barack Obama. 
Since getting to know each other during the campaigning, Oprah and Michelle have regularly been spotted together and Oprah invited the First Lady to be the first person (other than Oprah) to appear on the cover of O magazine.

Oprah Winfrey has always been the cover model for her O magazine but, for the first time in the nine years since it began, Oprah has moved over to share the spotlight.  The April 2009 issue will also feature First Lady Michelle Obama! 
Oprah also told her audience about what it was like to interview Mrs. Obama.  She and her best friend, Gayle King, spent the day at the White House.  They talked about how well-suited she seems for the position of First Lady.  Gayle brought up the swing set that Mrs. Obama had installed right outside the Oval Office …read more

First Lady, Michelle Obama, has sparked a debate over whether it is too informal for her to wear sleeveless dresses and gowns during official appearances.  The Today show looked at the issue from a fashion perspective.  Watch the segment here:

What do you think?  It seems that most people either don’t care or think that she has every right to bare those incredibly toned arms of hers. 

The Today show discussed how the lives of the family of President Barack Obama (wow!) will change after they move into the White House.  I imagine it’s going to take a huge adjustment.  Not only is the home bigger but it’s the most famous house in the United States and their lives will be constantly under public scrutiny.  Hopefully, some of the amenities will make the transition go a little easier.  In the private residence, they will have:

a swimming pool
tennis court
bowling alley
movie theater
flower shop (no excuse for missing an anniversary bouquet!)

Yesterday, president-elect, Barack Obama, and the current American leader, President George W Bush, along with their wives, Michelle and Laura, visited the White House for their first meeting since the historic election.  It was Obama’s first visit to the Oval office and it’s the first time this type of meeting has taken place so early after a new president was chosen. 
While the men talked about leading the nation, Laura showed Michelle around the living quarters.  They must be allowed to redecorate, right?  Those rooms were really ugly to me (watch the video):
