On today’s episode of Live with Regis and Kelly (it was a repeat but I hadn’t seen it before), host Regis Philbin learned that he is a cousin of the newest American Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi.  She brought a genealogy chart and everything (Regis flipped out – it was hilarious!).

Kara DioGuardi will be joining the judges’ panel on American Idol tomorrow night during the season premiere’s first auditions episode.  She talked to Today show host, Matt Lauer, about what she will be bringing to the show (she says she’s a “straight shooter” but that she brings “heart”).

American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, was on The View this morning where she talked about the death of obsessed fan, Paula Goodspeed, who was found dead outside of Abdul’s home last month.  She said that the last 5 years had been especially hard but that Goodspeed had been stalking her for the past 17 years.  That’s incredible!  I had no idea!
She also answered questions about the new Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi, and told the story of how she took Kara into her home after a chance encounter on the street.  What an interesting story!  Watch Paula’s complete visit here:
