]]> American Idol star and Oscar winner, Jennifer Hudson, was on Oprah yesterday and I was really happy to see her looking so well.  As you probably know, Jennifer suffered a huge loss late last year when her mother, brother and nephew were murdered.  The suspect is her sister’s estranged husband, William Balfour.

Oprah asked her about what it was like to win a Grammy and perform at Super Bowl XLIII.  When asked how she was doing, Jennifer said that she’s “in a very good place” and that performing is “therapeutic.”

Jennifer also performed her favorite song “If This Isn’t Love” from her debut CD.  Of course, it was incredible.  Jennifer is an amazing singer and I really hope that 2009 is the year that she deserves it to be.

]]> American Idol finalist (and Oscar winner), Jennifer Hudson, has seen her life turned upside down these past few weeks after her mother and brother were found murdered in the family home and her little nephew, Julian King, was found shot to death in the back of a vehicle just three days later. 

Police treated William Balfour, Jennifer’s own brother-in-the-law, as a person of interest since the crimes took place but he was not charged until just now so I’m guessing they have gathered some more evidence.  If he is guilty, I hope they can just get on with his conviction so that the Hudson family can begin to heal.
