David Hyde Pierce Talks Gay Marriage on The View
May 29, 2009 by Jeanne
Frasier actor, David Hyde Pierce, was very open during his visit to The View. Normally, he’s a fiercely private person so the revelation that he was married last October in a same-sex marriage really surprised me. He had a reason for divulging this personal information – his outrage over Proposition 8.
Last fall, he married his companion of 25 years, Brian Hargrove, in California and he’s outraged that other gay and lesbian couples are being denied this right. “Brian and I always kept a low profile. We didn’t hide our lives,” he said. “We got married very quietly last Oct. 24 …read more
Ellen Reacts to Ruling on Gay Marriage Ban
Yesterday, the California Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8 (the ban on gay marriage ban) and I am not surprised to see that Ellen Degeneres and other celebrities are responding in a very public way.

Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters talked about a call they received from Ellen Degeneres whose initial fear was that her recent marriage to Portia De Rossi would be annulled. After consulting with legal council, Barbara clarified that the ban will not work retroactively and that those marriages that have already taken place will be honored.
Meanwhile, GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) sent them some information to …read more
