Dr. Oz Discusses Adult Sex Education
November 16, 2009 by Jeanne
Dr. Oz gave adult viewers a little sex education. Honestly, while many of us talk about (or even have) sex on a regular basis, how often do we take the time to educate ourselves about our bodies and how we change in our lifetimes. The truth is that so many of us are in the dark about this very important part of our lives.
One thing he explained was that, in middle age, a woman’s vagina becomes more susceptible to infection after her estrogen levels drop whereas men lose the firmness of their erections due to a loss of testosterone.

Dr. Oz Names Food That Can Help Your Sex Life
November 5, 2009 by Jeanne
Almost everyone is interested in how they can improve the intimacy in their lives so it’s no surprise that Dr. Oz has offered some good advice about foods that can enhance your sex life.
I can already hear some of you reaching for your grocery lists to add some items!
Here are the foods that he mentioned:
Apples – I was thinking it might have something to do with the old adage “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” but it’s more simple than that. Apples are a natural breath freshener. Enough said.
Garlic – apparently, garlic increases blood flow in both men …read more
Dr. Phil’s Tips on Handling Toxic Relationships
October 22, 2009 by Jeanne
Almost everyone can relate to having a toxic relationship in their lives. Whether it’s with a family member, friend or even co-worker, these types of relationships can be draining and painful for everyone involved.
Dr. Phil posted a video on his YouTube channel giving advice on how to handle these situations. His first tip was to make sure to treat everyone with respect. Most importantly, he said that the issue needs to be brought out in the open and dealt with since it won’t go away on its own.
I agree with Dr. Phil this time. Here’s the video:
Dr. Oz’s Immune-Boosting Tips
With the H1N1 virus circulating around the world, people are looking for ways to stay healthy more than ever. Who better to give good advice than Dr. Oz?
Believe it or not, his advice is pretty simple. Here are his main tips:
Take Vitamin D – even if you are out in the sun a lot, you may not be getting enough of this essential vitamin. Dr. Oz suggests that people take 1,000 units a day.
Get enough sleep – I know life is busy and there never seems to be enough hours in a day but it’s really important to get …read more
Giada De Laurentiis Makes Tasty Chicken Meatballs
October 13, 2009 by Jeanne
Celebrity chef, Giada De Laurentiis, made some delicious looking meatballs on the Today show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb the other day and I definitely want to try to make these!
Giada’s ingredients list is pretty basic – bread crumbs, parsley, eggs, milk, ketchup, Romano cheese, salt & pepper and ground chicken. That’s it! They also looked easy to make. She used a melon baller to keep them uniform and to keep from having to get her hands dirty.
Off-Season Is a Great Time to Hit the Road
September 18, 2009 by Jeanne
It’s officially the off-season for travel which means that it is a great time to find some excellent travel deals. The best part is that the weather is still excellent in some beach locations but, in addition to lower prices, vacationers can enjoy their trip with fewer crowds.
Some locations that are good right now (as mentioned on the Today show) include Reno, Lake Tahoe, Hilton Head Island (South Carolina) and Bermuda. The segment offers some great tips so it’s worth checking out:
The Possible Perils of Home Births
September 17, 2009 by Jeanne
Many women are choosing to have their babies at home either with the help of a qualified professional (doctor, midwife, etc…) or even just on their own. I have a couple friends who have gone this route and swear by it and, having had three children of my own in the hospital, I can understand their argument. I have felt ignored and pressured in the hospital setting and I made some choices (or felt forced into some choices) that I would go back and change if I could. The problem was that my last child was very high-risk and I …read more
Find Great Deals For Traveling This Fall
September 16, 2009 by Jeanne
Whenever I think of taking a trip, I have to confess that I usually picture myself taking off sometime during the summer or around the Christmas holidays but fall is a great time of year to travel. Typically, the weather is pretty mild wherever you go which is great for people who want to avoid going someplace that will either be too hot or too cold. That’s why autumn is my favorite season!
Matt Lauer talked to a travel expert on the Today show who revealed that resorts are currently slashing prices to accommodate travelers this fall which is great given …read more
Pick a Diet to Match Your Personality
Altering one’s eating habits can be one of the most difficult things about taking on a healthy lifestyle. One thing that I’ve always felt is that what we eat and when we eat really needs to be practical for who we are and what we do. That is why this segment on the Today show was so interesting to me.
They talked about picking a diet that matched your personality and I think that the suggestions were mostly pretty helpful. They broke things down into personality types in the following ways
The Structured Eater – likes orderliness, follows the rules, struggles with …read more
See the Sights and Work Out on City Running Tours
September 14, 2009 by Jeanne
I love going on vacation but one thing that stresses me out is that I tend to slack off on my exercise regime and my eating habits go right out the window. My argument is always that I’m on holiday to see new things and enjoy new experiences which trumps my need to stay fit and eat right but a new trend is making it possible to do it all – running tours.
I’ve heard of boat, bus and train tours but never ones that involved running but, if you enjoy the physical activity, this is a great way to see …read more
