Al Reynolds might have had a really public freak out about his divorce but that doesn’t seem to have affected how he feels about his estranged wife, Star Jones.  When asked about his relationship with the former co-host of The View he said that he still loves her very much even after she filed for divorce back in March.

Star Jones doesn’t look like a woman nursing the wounds of a broken heart.  She might be in the middle of a divorce from Al Reynolds (he recently ranted on MySpace about how he’s been treated) but she’s been spotted in France at the Cannes Film Festival taking in the premieres for Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Un Conte de Noel.  She was also spotted hanging out with former Destiny’s Child member, Kelly Rowland.

Well, I’m guessing the soon-to-be ex-husband of former daytime talk show host, Star Jones, has had just about enough.  Al Reynolds posted a message on his MySpace page and he seems pretty upset. 

There has been so much speculation about why Star and Al have split up and, to be honest, most of the reasons stem from perceived defects in Al’s personality.  He has fought back and is asking people to get to know him, rather than believe the he is a “gigolo” or even homosexual (that’s the biggest rumor I’ve heard, to tell the truth).  He explains that he is a “professor, business owner, doctoral student and author” and would prefer not to be labelled. 

Here is the statement:

Dear Friends:

If you think you are having a tough day, may I propose you walk in my shoes for a few hours.

In my mind, it feels like “Dump on Al Month.” And I’m not having fun yet. 

I have been called a gigolo, a freeloader, unemployed, a sham and many other things that don’t bear repeating. People on television, radio and the internet have spoken disparagingly of my life, my sexuality, my career and my integrity.

Ooooh, no she didn’t!  Star Jones has publicly criticized her former boss, Barbara Walters, for some of the disclosures she made in her new book “Audition.”  In the memoir, Walters confesses to have had an affair with a married politician some years ago.

Barbara said some things herself.  Barb said that it was probably a mistake to cover up Star’s gastric bypass surgery but she insists she only did that because Star didn’t want to be “outed.”  To her credit, Barbara doesn’t say anything harmful in the interview about Star and, instead, wishes her well and says she will never forget Star’s contribution to The View.  Hmmm… very interesting!  Watch the exchange here:

Star Jones, the former co-host on The View, has filed for divorce from Al Reynolds who many people have accused of being gay.  It is really sad when a marriage ends so I hope things work out for both of them. 

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills are back in court for another round in their bitter divorce proceedings.  Star Jones spoke with Al Roker on the Today show yesterday about the case which has grown increasingly nasty.  Most recently, Mills fired her entire legal defense team.  Star Jones said that “one who represents themselves has a fool for a client.”  Star also talked about Mills’ agenda and the kind of message she is putting forth.

I find this case incredibly sad.  I had hoped they would find happiness together.  Al Roker brought up all of the accusations and rumors and asked if Star thought these things would be brought up in court.

Star Jones‘ new show is going off the air and, believe it or not, I think it’s too bad.  I will admit that I didn’t watch it very often but the times that I did see it, I thought it was decent enough.  I had hoped she would get a fresh start and it looks like that’s not going to happen. 

Apparently, the The Star Jones Show, is going off the air due to a “mutual agreement” between her and TruTV.

The live, 3 p.m. talk show, airing since September on the former Court TV, had been aimed at bridging the worlds of law and entertainment.

“Due to the rebranding and programming refocus of the network, TruTV and Star Jones Reynolds have mutually agreed to cease production of The Star Jones Show,” the network said. “Star will continue as a contributing legal expert on our weekday IN SESSION trial coverage. We appreciate the work she has contributed over the last few months and look forward to the next phase of our relationship.”
