Sherri Shepherd Reveals Diet Cheats on Twitter

June 9, 2009 by Jeanne

I’m always saying that people reveal way too much on Twitter and now Sherri Shepherd has proven that celebrities aren’t immune to getting in trouble because of it.90606A1_SHEPHERD_B-GR_01

Sherry wants to be swimsuit ready by August 6, 2009 so that she can show off her slimmed down summer body on The View

If you follow Sherry on Twitter, you will know that, over this past weekend, she "messed up a little last night … had fried calamari and fried catfish – gotta stay away from the soul food!  Back on track today – gym at 3 pm."

Naturally, her personal trainer spotted her junk food update prompting Sherry to later tweet: "Ain’t this a blip! I was planning on fibbing 2 my trainer & nutritional coach about what I ate this weekend – but they follow me."

Yesterday on the show, Sherry shared the experience with the audience and her fellow co-hosts: "this weekend, I was out in L.A., and I’m tweeting about [how] I had fried calamari and I had some buffalo wings and I just went totally off my diet. And it was great!  I did not know that my nutritional coach and my trainer follow me."

She seems to have learned her lesson about her diet AND about Twitter:  "[I] ordered chicken legs and thighs … the evil one (my trainer) made me take the skin off. Had a side of steamed veggies. Gave in w/diet Pepsi… You just assume when you tweet that you’re tweeting to people far away, not the person – your neighbor across the hall.  I wish my coach would have not tweeted because she’s coming here tomorrow to get on me about what I ate."

Sherri Shepherd at “Most Influential” Event

May 7, 2009 by Jeanne

Sherri Shepherd looked beautiful as she attended Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2009 event at the Lincoln Center in New York City.  The View host looks like she’s got a bag filled with goodies!  I wonder what’s in it!?

Sherri Shepherd is Heading to WWE

April 27, 2009 by Jeanne

There’s a title I never thought I’d be typing!  Apparently, Sherri Shepherd is a big fan of MVP, the massive WWE wrestler.  She actually said that he’s zumaredwestphotos164733-20090218-nan-k03"goooorgeous."  She took it a step further on The View and said to her co-hosts: "I don’t know if he’s married or single but i’m going to find out.  I want to be Mrs. MVP."

The public declaration of her affection seems to have paid off.  She’s going to be making a special appearance on "WWE Friday Night Smackdown" on May 1, 2009 and the event is supposed to end with Sherri "getting in the corner with WWE Superstar MVP."

Uh… I don’t even know what to say about that but I will definitely try to tune in.  Who knows what will happen?

The View Spoofed on Saturday Night Live

March 16, 2009 by Jeanne

This weekend, Saturday Night Live welcomed back former cast member, Tracy Morgan and, overall, it was a pretty funny episode.  I had gotten used to seeing the show poke fun at the Today show (see two skits here and here) and was pleasantly surprised to see them spoofing The View.  Tracy portrayed Sherri Shepherd who didn’t seem to know what anything was about (at one point, she claimed to not know what “research” meant).  Of course, they had Kristen Wiig do a very annoying impersonation of Elisabeth Hasselbeck which was actually pretty funny.

In case this skit brought back memories, I should mention that this isn’t the first time The View was parodied by SNL.  Watch a previous skit here!

The View Talks About Rush Limbaugh and Rihanna Reuniting with Chris Brown

March 3, 2009 by Jeanne

Yesterday on their “Hot Topics” segment, the ladies on The View started their discussion by talking about the controversial comments made by radio talk show host, Rush Limbaugh, who has actually said that he wants President Barack Obama to fail.  Was Rush out of line to make those comments?  Watch this video and decide for yourself.

Another thing that they talked about are the rumors that Rihanna has taken her boyfriend, Chris Brown, back after he allegedly assaulted her.  Specifically, they mentioned that Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, has decided to stand behind any decision she makes.  I have to admit that I’ve been bothered by her choice to even go near Chris Brown.  I think he should be charged to the fullest extent of the law.  Do you agree?

The View “Hot Topics” – February 17, 2009

February 18, 2009 by Jeanne

The “Hot Topics” on The View yesterday was actually pretty great.  Sometimes I get really frustrated by it but it started with Elisabeth Hasselbeck talking about The Bachelor and she was cracking up about how ridiculous the episode the night before.

The ladies also talked about the ridiculous Terms of Service that Facebook tried to put forth which would have given them rights to any images their users put on their profiles.  Thankfully, they’ve backed down (read more about it here).

Whoopi Goldberg also mentioned the fact that All My Children had the first same-sex marriage on daytime television.  It was a big deal!

They also talked about Bristol Palin’s interview with Greta Van Susteren.  The daughter of Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin became a mother at just 18 years old.  The ladies on The View talked about how Bristol stated that “abstinence doesn’t work” which was a surprise since advocating abstinence was such a big part of Governor Palin’s platform.  I think that it’s great to encourage your children to abstain from having sex before marriage but it’s probably also a good idea to tell them how to protect themselves if they make other decisions.

Hasselbeck Reacts to Palin Wolf Slaughter

February 6, 2009 by Jeanne

I will admit that I was startled when I first saw the video of actress, Ashley Judd, taking direct aim at Alaskan governor, Sarah Palin.  Ashley, in conjunction with the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund are trying to put a stop to Palin’s aerial-wolf killing program.  They’ve launched a site called EyeonPalin.org

On The View earlier this week, they played a portion of the video for the audience.  Elisabeth Hasselbeck came forward to defend the killing of the wolves since she said that it is necessary to protect the caribou population in Alaska.  Elisabeth then went on to question whether Ashley is vocal in protecting the thousands of children who are killed every year through abortions.  I’m sure that must have hurt Sherri Shepherd who has admitted to having terminated a pregnancy (or two) in the past.

Sherri Shepherd Joins Dancing With the Stars

January 22, 2009 by Jeanne

The ladies on The View will have a good reason to start watching Dancing With the Stars.  Co-host, Sherri Shepherd is set to join the cast!

New York Times Art And Leisure Weekend - Day 1

This won’t interfere with her job on The View but I am really excited to see her on the show.  I don’t normally watch it but I do know that it’s a great way to get in shape!  I’ve seen so many celebs drop pounds on the show but it’s z lot of hard work.  I think she will be a fun addition to the cast so I will definitely be tuning in!

Hot Topics on The View – January 12, 2009

January 12, 2009 by Jeanne

This morning on The View, host Elisabeth Hasselbeck talked about her visit to the White House and showed pictures of her children interacting with President Bush (one of her kids headbutted the president).  Barbara Walters and Elisabeth both talked about how they hope people can be respectful of Bush as he prepares to leave office.  There was some humorous banter about Barbara stealing things from the White House.

Whoopi Goldberg also talked about the fact that Paul McCartney will be on the show later this week and they mentioned how rare it is for him to do live interviews.

The women also talked about last night’s Golden Globe awards (Barbara was happy that Mad Men won) and Sherri Shepherd asked them to show the clip of Tina Fey’s acceptance speech when Tracy Morgan took over and explained that he would be the new face of “30 Rock” since Barack Obama had won the US presidency.

They also talked about Kate Winslet, who was visibly shaken after winning twice at the Golden Globe awards.  It was truly charming (I loved her last night).

The women brought up Patrick Swayze, who is currently in the hospital with pneumonia.  He’s been battling cancer while filming and promoting his television show The Beast.  I sincerely hope he gets better and I know he means a great deal to Whoopi since they co-starred together in Ghost (1990).
