Dr. Oz Discusses Adult Sex Education
November 16, 2009 by Jeanne
Dr. Oz gave adult viewers a little sex education. Honestly, while many of us talk about (or even have) sex on a regular basis, how often do we take the time to educate ourselves about our bodies and how we change in our lifetimes. The truth is that so many of us are in the dark about this very important part of our lives.
One thing he explained was that, in middle age, a woman’s vagina becomes more susceptible to infection after her estrogen levels drop whereas men lose the firmness of their erections due to a loss of testosterone.

November 5, 2009 by Jeanne
Almost everyone is interested in how they can improve the intimacy in their lives so it’s no surprise that Dr. Oz has offered some good advice about foods that can enhance your sex life.
I can already hear some of you reaching for your grocery lists to add some items!
Here are the foods that he mentioned:
Apples – I was thinking it might have something to do with the old adage “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” but it’s more simple than that. Apples are a natural breath freshener. Enough said.

Dr. Oz’s Immune-Boosting Tips
With the H1N1 virus circulating around the world, people are looking for ways to stay healthy more than ever. Who better to give good advice than Dr. Oz?
Believe it or not, his advice is pretty simple. Here are his main tips:
Take Vitamin D – even if you are out in the sun a lot, you may not be getting enough of this essential vitamin. Dr. Oz suggests that people take 1,000 units a day.
Get enough sleep – I know life is busy and there never seems to be enough hours in a day but it’s really important to get …read more
Dr. Oz Hosts Free Health Clinic in Houston
September 28, 2009 by Jeanne
In an effort to help uninsured people living in Houston, Texas, a free health clinic was set up and the response has been overwhelming. Nearly 2,000 people showed up on Saturday where they were given free checkups, medical tests and minor procedures performed by 700 volunteers including Dr. Mehmet Oz. He will be airing some parts of the experience on his talk show in October.
Why Houston? Texas has the nation’s highest uninsured rate. I hope that this will serve as an example for other cities where people desperately need help. I realize that it takes resources to put something like …read more
Dr. Oz Can’t Recommend H1N1 Shot – Yet
September 22, 2009 by Jeanne
While Dr. Oz recommends that everyone get the annual flu shot or mist, he’s less certain about recommending the vaccine for the H1N1 virus (otherwise known as swine flu). Indeed, many people seem unsure about getting the vaccination since its development seems a little rushed.
Oz told News 4 WOAI the following: "I don’t want to make a commitment on that until we see the final data” and added that the fact that many people died in the 1970s from a relatively untested vaccine more than they did from the actual disease is a “good reason why people should hold …read more
Core Team Named For “The Dr. Oz Show”
September 10, 2009 by Jeanne
The “core team” has been announced for the first season of The Dr. Oz Show and I’m pretty excited about it!
Among the key contributors are Project Runway style and fashion expert, Tim Gunn, fitness trainer Bob Harper (who I love on The Biggest Loser) and former NFL star, Eddie George, along with his wife, Survivor alum, Taj.
"Each one of these contributors brings a unique perspective on achieving optimal health," said Dr. Oz. "They have proven track records in inspiring others not only to realize their potential and self worth, but also to improve their lives. Body image, sports …read more
