Elisabeth Hasselbeck Sued Over Book Idea
June 23, 2009 by Jeanne
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being sued over her book The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide. The
View co-host released the book after being diagnosed with celiac disease which is an autoimmune disorder linked to gluten proteins (like the ones you’d find in wheat, barley and rye). Unfortunately, it could be that Elisabeth’s experience wasn’t her only source of inspiration for writing the book.
According to the Boston Herald, a woman named Susan Hassett sent Hasselbeck a copy of her own self-published work, Living with Celiac Disease, along with “a homemade cooking video, a personal note, a newspaper article and a business card.”
So far, Elisabeth hasn’t responded to the allegations but I would like to know just how similar the books are. This health-related stuff can be so similar since, unless the author has stumbled upon some huge breakthrough, it’s all just a variation on what researchers have discovered. I hope Elisabeth didn’t steal from that woman but I guess it will be up to a court of law to decide.

Ellen DeGeneres Turns Away 500 Fans From No Doubt Show?
May 20, 2009 by Jeanne
According to reports made by Perez Hilton, several of his readers are claiming that they were turned away from seeing rock group No Doubt performing outdoors. The group performed yesterday for an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.![]()
The fans had been waiting for 7 hours in the sun and each of them had reserved tickets to the show. Despite the fact that they had reserved tickets, they were denied access due to a major miscount on the show’s part. They over counted 500 people attending the event so those 500 fans left the Warner Bros lot disappointed and terribly unsatisfied.
One woman even claims that she was able to squeeze in behind the stage, but even that turned out to be horrendous. "We had no speakers to hear anything! My nose started bleeding and NO ONE even bothered to see if I was ok. The security guy just gave me a napkin. Two other girls fainted because of the heat."
After all they’d reportedly been through, the fans were then told to call back next season for tickets.
That is just awful!! Some of the fans had even travelled from far away to see No Doubt perform. I don’t understand how you can over count by 500. That is insanity!

No Kids Yet for Portia de Rossi and Ellen Degeneres
March 17, 2009 by Jeanne
After rumors of an impending pregnancy
continue to swirl around the couple, Portia de Rossi, once again, sets the record straight – she and wife, daytime talk show host, Ellen Degeneres, are not expecting a baby and they are not planning to have any children any time soon.
In an interview with USA Today, Portia said "It’s the same thing every single year: that I am trying to get pregnant. And I’m not. Maybe one day I’ll want to have kids, but it’s not something we’ve talked about recently."
I don’t understand why people have to be obsessed with the reproductive lives of celebrities. If a couple chooses to have a baby, then we’ll find out when the child is born or during the pregnancy. Why do we have to put so much pressure on them?
The 36-year-old Australian actress was married to Ellen last August in Los Angeles.

Hasselback Upset With Co-hosts, Walters Says She Needs to "Cool Off"
September 30, 2008 by Jeanne
The presidential campaign seems to be causing a rift on The View these days with the rumors suggesting that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is upset with her “liberal” co-hosts (she’s a staunch Republican). I find it particularly appalling because Elisabeth is the only one of them who has gone to a party convention and trashed a former guest, Michelle Obama, the wife of Democratic presidential hopeful, Senator Barack Obama.
The Chicago Sun Times wrote (with information from a longtime View staff member): ”It’s not as bad as during the Rosie [O'Donnell] era” but that it’s gotten to the point where Barbara Walters has had to call a ”cooling off” meeting.
It’s always Elisabeth vs. someone so maybe it’s time to consider her the problem. I’m a bit exhausted by all of the hand-holding and “calming down” people need to do with Elisabeth. Either toughen up and take it or stop dishing it out, is my opinion…

Al Reynolds Still Loves Star Jones Very Much

Image details: The Fifth Annual Grand Gala served by picapp.com
Al Reynolds might have had a really public freak out about his divorce but that doesn’t seem to have affected how he feels about his estranged wife, Star Jones. When asked about his relationship with the former co-host of The View he said that he still loves her very much even after she filed for divorce back in March.
Here’s a segment of an interview he did recently. See the other parts on his YouTube channel!
Oprah Winfrey to Be On 30 Rock?
June 8, 2008 by Jeanne
OK! magazine is reporting that Keith Powell, also known as Toother on NBC’s hit show, 30 Rock, has hopes for a celebrity appearance by Oprah Winfrey, on the show’s next season.
“That’s the rumor,” He told OK! “Last I heard, NBC was really, really trying to make it happen. I don’t know if it will happen yet or not.”
Not only would it be an honour for Keith to have Oprah on the show, but meeting the queen of talk shows would put Keith in a state of pure shock.
“There are very few people in the world that if I meet I would hyperventilate over and that would be her,” Keith admitted. When asked about what role Winfrey would play, Keith replied by saying, “She’d have to play herself.” Keith added, “I think we’ve talked about her so much she’d have to play herself and then you’d have to watch me loose all bowel movements.”
That could be great! Do you guys think Oprah would be a good addition to the show?

Is Oprah Winfrey’s Empire In Trouble?
May 30, 2008 by Jeanne
Tongues are wagging about sagging ratings on the Oprah Winfrey Show. It’s down by 7%, her magazine is selling less and her reality television show Big Give did not do well so, of course, critics are talking. The thing is that almost everything in syndication has suffered from lower ratings and I think it’s really premature to start panicking.
Naturally, people are trying to draw connections to her endorsement of presidential candidate, Barack Obama. I’m sorry but, if I were in her position and strongly believed in something, I would find it hard to stay silent. She has done controversial things in the past and I think this is no exception. Besides, it’s not like Obama is a lame-duck. He is currently looking like the forerunner of the Democratic party and I think she has a right to support whomever she chooses.
Here’s a video of the story. Watch it and tell me what you think!
Al Reynolds Makes Statement About Divorce from Star Jones
Well, I’m guessing the soon-to-be ex-husband of former daytime talk show host, Star Jones, has had just about enough. Al Reynolds posted a message on his MySpace page and he seems pretty upset.
There has been so much speculation about why Star and Al have split up and, to be honest, most of the reasons stem from perceived defects in Al’s personality. He has fought back and is asking people to get to know him, rather than believe the he is a “gigolo” or even homosexual (that’s the biggest rumor I’ve heard, to tell the truth). He explains that he is a “professor, business owner, doctoral student and author” and would prefer not to be labelled.
Here is the statement:
Dear Friends:
If you think you are having a tough day, may I propose you walk in my shoes for a few hours.
In my mind, it feels like “Dump on Al Month.” And I’m not having fun yet.
I have been called a gigolo, a freeloader, unemployed, a sham and many other things that don’t bear repeating. People on television, radio and the internet have spoken disparagingly of my life, my sexuality, my career and my integrity.

Star Jones Attacks Barbara Walters!
May 8, 2008 by Jeanne
Ooooh, no she didn’t! Star Jones has publicly criticized her former boss, Barbara Walters, for some of the disclosures she made in her new book “Audition.” In the memoir, Walters confesses to have had an affair with a married politician some years ago.
Barbara said some things herself. Barb said that it was probably a mistake to cover up Star’s gastric bypass surgery but she insists she only did that because Star didn’t want to be “outed.” To her credit, Barbara doesn’t say anything harmful in the interview about Star and, instead, wishes her well and says she will never forget Star’s contribution to The View. Hmmm… very interesting! Watch the exchange here:
