Oprah Winfrey Will End Her Show in 2011

Daytime queen, Oprah Winfrey, has decided to end her popular talk show at the end of its 25th season in September 2011.

The president of Harpo made the announcement and said that Oprah would make it official in an upcoming episode where she will explain the reasons why she is ending her run. Her show is the top-rated U.S. daytime talk show and has attracted an average of 7.1 million viewers this year.

I’m sad to see the show come to an end but, at the same time, I think it’s the right time for her to close it down. What do you think?

Sarah Palin Finally Sits Down With Oprah

Former Alaskan governor, Sarah Palin, was on the Oprah show today where she talked about just about everything. Oprah asked her about her daughter, Bristol, and the fact that the girl became a teen mom despite the fact that Palin advocates abstinence. She said that the campaign managers during John McCain’s presidential bid (with Palin as his running mate), wanted her to put a positive spin on the pregnancy and said that the image of the “happy grandparents” was all orchestrated. Barbara Walters to Interview Sarah Palin

Barbara Walters might have been a journalist for longer but when it comes to scoring big interviews, it’s hard to beat the power of Oprah.

Walters is going to get her chance at needling former Alaskan governor, Sarah Palin, but not before the controversial woman sits down on Oprah in an episode airing on November 16, 2009.

To compensate, Walters’ interview will be aired in five parts on Good Morning America and will likely focus on Palin’s failed run for the White House (as John McCain’s vice president) as well as her new book, Going Rogue: An American Life.

It’s November sweeps, folks, so I’m not surprised that these two are scrambling to sit down with Palin. I’m not sure how much we are going to learn, though, since it’s hard to know whether Palin is telling the truth about anything.

I’m not saying that negatively but I just feel like there’s so much drama and secrecy surrounding her life. It would be interesting to see what she says, though.
