Regis Philbin returned to Live With Regis and Kelly today!
The 78-year-old talk show host, who had hip replacement surgery five weeks ago, said he’s doing well after the procedure.
“I’m feeling a lot better,” he said during host chat. “It will be five weeks tomorrow. I had a great doctor…He’s one of the best. I’m lucky”

His hip is feeling pretty good these days, so Regis Philbin is ready to return to  work.
Regis, who underwent a successful hip replacement surgery this month,  will return to Live With Regis and Kelly on Monday, January 4 — just in time to kick off the new year.
In his first week back, Regis and Kelly will chat with stars including Precious actress Gabourey Sidibe, Crazy on the Outside star Tim Allen,  and pilot/hero Capt. Chesley B. Sullenberger. The cohosts will also launch the show’s “New Year, New You Guide to Better Eating Week.”

Ever wonder if Live cohosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa exchange gifts at Christmas time?

“We do exchange presents,” Kelly said while responding to a viewer question today.  Kelly added that Regis  “gave us a beautiful photo album with our name last year.”  She also admitted that she has given Regis the same gift for the past three years — a gingerbread house that he absolutely loves.
Speaking of gifts, the show was in a gift-giving mood today.They gave each member of the studio audience a new Toshiba laptop!

It’s  Live With Regis Nick and Kelly!
Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers will be the guest co-host on Live With Regis and Kelly on Friday, January 8. Nick, 17, is currently promoting his new project, Nick Jonas and the Administration.
We can’t wait to hear what the teen heartthrob will discuss with Kelly during host chat!  I’m thinking he might be the youngest person to ever co-host the morning chatfest.

Kelly Ripa and her hottie husband Mark Consuelos will team up to host Live on Thursday — and they probably won’t be talking about an exciting date night during the host chat segment.
Kelly tells Redbook her date nights with Mark are pretty low-key. “A date night for us is watching Top Chef,” she said. “A date night for us is getting our kids asleep before 9:30! It’s really just about checking in, asking how the other person’s day is, and cuddling up. It doesn’t have to lead to anything, although it usually does. But it doesn’t have to.”

Regis Philbin is at home recovering from hip surgery,  but that didn’t stop the talk show host from delivering his friend David Letterman’s Top Ten List on Tuesday night.
Regis made a call to Late Show with David Letterman to give a quick update on his recovery (he’s doing fine, by the way)  and to present  “The Top Ten Ways Regis Is Passing the Time While Recovering From Hip Surgery."
A couple of the ways Regis joked he is passing the time: “Annoying the hell out Joy” and “watching movies on Lifetime and crying my eyes out.”
