Ashley Tisdale “It’s Alright, It’s OK” - Good Morning America

June 18, 2009 by Jeanne

Ashley Tisdale was on Good Morning America earlier this week where she performed her single “It’s Alright, It’s OK” which is the first release from her Guilty Pleasure album, which drops on July 28, 2009.

Ashley Tisdale

The track is a bit of a departure from what we’ve come to expect from the High School Musical star – it’s a little edgier with a slightly heavier rock sound.  I think it’s great that she’s trying to experiment with a new sound and expand her talents.  I wouldn’t say that I love the song or the performance but I know that it’s a little hard when a song is still new and the artist hasn’t gotten used to singing it (plus, it was early in the morning although you wouldn’t know it by how much energy Ashley had!).  My only comment is that I hope she does try to become too sexual in an effort to shed the Disney image.  Check it out and tell me what you think:

Jonas Brothers on Good Morning America

June 15, 2009 by Jeanne

The Jonas Brothers were on Good Morning America last Friday where they performed for the Summer Concert Series.  They have been touring to promote their new album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, and their new single “Paranoid.”

As the mother of two teens, I have tolerated the music of the Jonas Brothers for the past little while but I have to admit that this newest album (particularly the single) is actually pretty good.  It’s a new, more serious sound for them and I think it suits their post-puberty voices (sorry, it had to be said).

In addition to “Paranoid,” the boys performed some other songs from their new album (“Poison Ivy” and “World War III”) as well as their older hit “Burnin’ Up.”  Watch the videos after the jump!

Green Day on Good Morning America

May 22, 2009 by Jeanne

Punk rock group, Green Day, was on Good Morning America this morning where they sang songs from their new album 21st Century Breakdown as well as some of their older stuff like “American Idiot.”

With a group this experienced, I’m not surprised that they did a good job (plus, I think GMA has a really good stage).  The other songs they performed were current single “Know Your Enemy,” “21st Century Breakdown” and “Longview.”

Michael J. Fox Talks About Fight With Parkinson’s Disease

April 2, 2009 by Jeanne

Michael J. Fox was on Good Morning America yesterday morning where he talked about his new book Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable michael j fox always looking up coverOptimist as well as his struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

I’ve been a big fan of my fellow Canadian for years watching him on the excellent television series Family Ties and, of course, in the Back to the Future movies.  I was sad when he had to retire from Spin City back in 2000 – the show was doing very well but his disease prevented him from continuing.

Now, in his book he reveals his personal story and how he has managed to take the challenges in his life and turn them into opportunities.  The book opens with his retirement and then chronicles “the struggle of shifting between his public and private personas.”  You can read an excerpt from the book on the Good Morning America website.

Kelly Clarkson Visits Good Morning America

March 11, 2009 by Jeanne

American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, was on Good Morning America yesterday morning where she promoted the release of her new album All I Ever Wanted and performed “My Life Would Suck Without You.”  I had to laugh out loud when host, Diane Sawyer, accidentally said that the album was “bombing” instead of “booming” on the charts.

I think she sounded great, as she normally does, live which is quite a feat considering how early in the morning she had to sing.  Listen to this and tell me what you think!

Jonas Brothers on Good Morning America

March 2, 2009 by Jeanne

The Jonas Brothers appeared on Good Morning America this past Saturday morning.  They played a quick game where the brothers had to hold up a picture of one of them in response to a question.  For example, when asked who takes the longest to get ready, Nick and Kevin held up a picture of middle brother Joe.  When asked who the “mama’s boy” was, they all held up a picture of Nick (Nick included!).

The trio also surprised movie-goers by showing up unexpectedly at theatres.  Their film, Jonas Brothers 3-D Experience, underwhelmed at the box office but I’ve only heard good things about it so I was shocked it didn’t do better.

Girl Scouts and Microsoft Fight Online Predators

February 24, 2009 by Jeanne

As a mother, I’m always chilled to the bone to hear statistics about online predators so I am thrilled to hear that the Girl Scouts and Microsoft are doing something to fight back.  The website is LMK: Life Online and even from just spending a couple minutes on there, I think this is a step in the right direction.  They provide information on a wide range of topics and encourage parents to create Facebook profiles in order to have a better understanding of the social networking tools their children are using.

In case you are wondering “LMK” stands for “Let Me Know.”  More tips and information can be found on the Good Morning America website.

Kelly Ripa Visits Good Morning America

February 10, 2009 by Jeanne

Talk show host, Kelly Ripa, was on Good Morning America this morning 28103PCN_Kellywhere they put her in their infamous “Hot Seat.”  Kelly was a little awkward during the appearance since she kept trying to compliment all of the hosts by saying how “hot” they are or how they were all so “good looking” that she couldn’t decide who to look at.

Anyway, viewers sent in questions and comments for Kelly.  The first one asked about her daily workout routine.  Before answering, Kelly took a moment to look straight into the camera and deny any “rumors” that she takes steroids to enhance her physique (it was pretty funny!).  She said that uses Physique 57 which is a program that uses your own body weight to build muscle.  I had never heard of it before but it is clearly working for her!

Someone asked who Kelly would to have as a co-host if Regis Philbin ever retired.  She said that Regis will never retire, that she will leave first but that she predicts that, someday, the show will be called Live with Regis and Sam Champion (Sam is a host on Good Morning America and, again, she talked about how much she loves him which seemed to present yet another awkward moment).

When someone asked if Kelly does her household chores wearing stilettos like she does in her Electrolux commercials, she said she can’t because her husband, Mark Consuelos, makes every take their shoes off at the door (me too!).

Sanjaya Malakar on Good Morning America

January 26, 2009 by Jeanne

American Idol season 6 finalist, Sanjaya Malakar, was on Good Morning America last week to talk about his new book, “Dancing to the Music in My Head.”

Sanjaya leaves GMA Show in New York CityYou can read an excerpt from the book on the Good Morning America website but, unless you’re a die-hard fan of Sanjaya’s, you probably won’t be too interested. I think it’s great that he’s trying to branch out and try his hand at writing but I’m not sure it’s the right path for him.

This video is weird since it seems spliced but it was the only one I could find.
