Daytime queen, Oprah Winfrey, has decided to end her popular talk show at the end of its 25th season in September 2011.
The president of Harpo made the announcement and said that Oprah would make it official in an upcoming episode where she will explain the reasons why she is ending her run.  Her show is the top-rated U.S. daytime talk show and has attracted an average of 7.1 million viewers this year.

It was a fun night watching the Daytime Emmy Awards last night.  Did you catch the show?  If not, here’s a quick rundown of how our shows and hosts fared.

I wasn’t surprised at all to see that the Tyra Banks Show won the “informative” talk show award since she is constantly trying to push the envelope to educate her viewers whether it’s a giant stuffed vagina or having pregnant prostitutes on the show to tell their stories.  She really has carved out a niche for herself and I’m really happy for her.

Whoopi Goldberg looked less than thrilled to have her picture taken by the paparazzi as she shopped in SoHo last week.  Apparently she stopped in a few shops including the Apple Store but I guess I can understand why she didn’t want to see the photographers.  There are days when I step out of the house and I just throw myself together.  I wouldn’t want anyone to take my picture on those days so I’m glad I’m not a celebrity.

Earlier this week, Maxwell performed his new single “Pretty Wings” from his album, BLACKsummers’night which was released earlier this month.  He had been out of the limelight for so long and I’m glad to see him back.

Ellen DeGeneres continues to shine!  On Friday, she accepted the “Outstanding Talk Show Host” award during the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in Hollywood, California.  Ellen seemed genuinely moved and had her fiancée, Portia Di Rossi, on hand for support.

Tyra Banks took home the prize for “Outstanding Informative Talk Show” at the 35th Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday.  She looked absolutely beautiful and I was happy for her since she really has been trying to reach her audience and talk about things that many shows do not discuss in as much detail.

The Rachael Ray show won the “Outstanding Talk Show” prize at the 35th Daytime Emmy Awards last night.  Rachael looked incredible in her black dress and I was happy for her.  I don’t really watch that show much but I think it might be time to start.  Watch her acceptance speech:

The View co-host, Sherri Shepherd, and daytime soap hunk, Cameron Mathison, shared a comical kiss during a “love scene” at the 35th Daytime Emmy Awards last night.  It was pretty cute.  Here are a couple pictures:

Ellen Degeneres did very well at the 34th annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, June 15th. She won the awards for “Best Talk Show” and “Best Talk Show Host” for the fourth consecutive year!
