Whoopi Goldberg Talks About Patrick Swayze’s Death

September 16, 2009 by Jeanne

Whoopi Goldberg talked about the loss of her friend (and Ghost co-star), Patrick Swayze, who sadly passed away yesterday from pancreatic cancer at the age of 57.

She talked about how determined he was to try to continue to fight and live his life to the fullest right up until the last minute.  It was an emotional moment for Whoopi and I was so proud and impressed by her ability to get through the discussion because I know it must have been so hard for her.  She said that she believes in the message from the movie Ghost, that life goes on after death, and she believes the he will always be around.

It really broke my heart listening to her when her voice started to choke up. It’s so hard to remain professionally detached when it’s someone you knew well and cared about.

A most heartfelt tribute by Whoopi Goldberg.
