Joy Behar Gets Her Own Talk Show

June 11, 2009 by Jeanne

The New York Times is reporting that Joy Behar is getting her own talk show.  I should have known she was being prepped for something with all of those late-night co-hosting gigs she’s been doing.  acephotos128358-JOY-BEHAR

The Joy Behar Show will be broadcast on HLN which some people consider the more opinionated sister channel of the (mostly) fact-based, CNN.  She will be taking the 9pm slot from Lou Dobbs as a repeat of his “Lou Dobbs Tonight” will be discontinued.

In case you are wondering (as I was), she will continue her hosting duties on The View but will be working a double shift (hey, it’s worked for Meredith Vieira, Regis Philbin and even Rachael Ray).  I think that she could really handle her own show and I’m excited for her.  I think she’s intelligent, funny and has a very straightforward and honest method of approaching topics.

There is no firm date yet, though it is expected to appear in HLN’s fall lineup.
