Lisa Ling “Terrified” For Jailed Sister

You might remember Lisa Ling from her brief stint on The View or, more recently, as a special correspondent on the Oprah show.  She’s in the news again but, unfortunately, the circumstances are a lot less pleasant. 

Her sister, Laura Ling and her fellow Current TV reporter, Euna Lee, were detained by guards in North Korea on March 17, 2009 after they were discovered shooting a video along the country’s border with China.  The two women have been sitting in a North Korean jail ever since.  Now, the two families are expressing their fears for their safety and are pleading for their safe release. release.  “We’re terrified,” Lisa Ling said on the Today show this morning.  “We don’t know what to expect.”  “They want to use these two detainees as bargaining chips,” New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said. “It’s a high-stakes poker game.” 

The backstory is a bit complicated but, if you watch this video, you will get a better idea of what’s going on.  I don’t know about you but I would be absolutely horrified.
