Warning Signs that Women Shouldn’t Ignore

The Today show did an extremely important segment about women’s health and the warning sounds that we should NEVER ignore.
- Basic flu-like symptoms are probably the result of a virus but they could also signal a heart attack in women if they come on suddenly and you experience shortness of breath, tightness in your chest and/or feelings of indigestion.
- Burning/tingling/numbness in your feet could be a sign that you need better shoes but it could also be a signal of pre-diabetes, pinched nerves or clogged arteries.
- Pelvic pain is probably the result of gastrointestinal illness (or cramps) but it could also be a sign of ovarian cancer especially if you have a bloated belly while you are losing weight without trying.
- Being tired all the time could truly be the result of fatigue but it can also be the sign of a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome.
If you find yourself experiencing any of the above symptoms and are feeling concerned, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Talk to your physician to rule out the presence of a serious illness or disorder.
