Martha Stewart’s Puppy Dies, Ellen Sends Flowers

Martha Stewart is mourning the loss of her pet chow chow, Genghis Khan.  The poor little animal was killed when a propane delivery at an elite kennel went wrong, caused an explosion and killed almost two dozen dogs.

The blast took place at a Carbon County kennel in Pennsylvania and some of the victims included show dogs.  The delivery man and some police officers were burned when they tried to rescue as many dogs as they could.

Martha, who is clearly devastated by the news, wrote about the loss on her blog and twittered her appreciation to fans for their support and to Ellen Degeneres, who sent Martha yellow roses in the pup’s memory.

Less than a year ago, Martha lost another dog, Kublai Khan Paw Paw Chow Chow Chow (better known as “Paw Paw”).  The blog post that she wrote at that time caused some to raise their eyebrows since she posted pictures of the dog slowly dying over his last day of life and then showed his body wrapped and ready for burial.  Some people thought it was touching, others thought it was downright creepy.  Regardless, it is unfortunate that she has to go through this again so soon.
