Try Chef Lidia’s Perfect Pasta With a Twist!

January 13, 2009 by Jeanne

Lidia Bastianich stopped by the Today show where she talked with host, Al Roker and made bucatini with homemade bread crumbs.  I absolutely love pasta and I adore garlic so this recipe looks like something I would love (it looked like there was a little too much olive oil in there for me, though).  The recipe calls for oregano and, while Lidia explains that she prefers fresh herbs, oregano is the exception because the dried version is more intense.  I never noticed that!

It ended up being a very simple dish and Lidia suggested that viewers add whatever veggie they’d like if they want some added fiber (she threw in some spinach and that looked really good!).  I think I’d either do that or a little bit of broccoli.  Yum!
