Tom Cruise Gets Emotional on The View
January 9, 2009 by Jeanne
Tom Cruise was on The View where he was asked about the tragic death of John Travolta’s 16-year-old son, Jett Travolta. It is well-known that the actors are friends and, of course, belong to the same religion. When Barbara Walters asked about the death, Tom got very emotional and could barely find the words to express how he felt. The best word he could use was “horrific” which is an excellent word to describe the Travolta family’s tragic loss.
Naturally, people have been trying to blame Scientology for the child’s death which I think is both unfair and very ridiculous. I find the attack on that religion shameful. Of course, Barbara had to clarify that there is nothing in Scientology that requires followers to abstain from seeking medical help (Tom said that the opposite is true) and reports have shown that the Travolta family did try having their son on Depakote for his seizures but it wasn’t effective.
Honestly, I think it’s time for the belief-bullying to stop. It’s disgusting. This family is grieving and people are ready to burn them at the stake for their religious beliefs without even knowing what’s really going on.
