Oprah Winfrey Tops Power 100 List
December 5, 2008 by Jeanne
Oprah Winfrey has topped the Power 100 list as the most influential woman in entertainment (she’s pictured above with Hollywood Reporter editor-in-chief Elizabeth Guider, Anne Sweeney, Amy Pascal and Hollywood Reporter publisher Eric Mika at the 17th Annual Women In Entertainment Power 100 Breakfast this morning in Beverly Hills). The list was compiled by the Hollywood Reporter. She was chosen because she not only appears on/produces the hugely successful daytime talk show, Oprah, but she also publishes O magazine, "runs a prominent charity and has plans to extend her brand to a new TV network."
She’s in great company – here’s the Top 10 list:
- Oprah Winfrey, chair of Harpo Inc.
- Anne Sweeney, co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of Disney-ABC TV.
- Amy Pascal, chair of Sony Motion Picture Group and co-chair of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
- Nancy Tellem, president of CBS Paramount Network TV.
- Stacey Snider, co-chair and CEO of DreamWorks.
- Bonnie Hammer, president of USA Network and Sci Fi Channel.
- Judy McGrath, chairman and CEO of MTV Networks.
- Mary Parent, chair of MGM’s worldwide motion picture group.
- Dana Walden, chair of 20th Century Fox Television.
- Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment.
