Could Elisabeth Hasselbeck Replace Oprah?

As people begin to speculate about the possibility of Oprah moving to her own network when her contract ends in 2011, rumors have been swirling about who could replace her.  Could the next big talk show host be Elisabeth Hasselbeck of The View?  I surely hope not.  While I think her antics are entertaining (sometimes), I can’t see her having long-term appeal unless she’s going to fight and argue with her guests.  Elisabeth without a feud is, well… boring.  I don’t find her particularly enlightening and I’m afraid to have her spewing intolerance and ignorance to a whole new generation of viewers.

So, could Elisabeth Hasselbeck replace Oprah?  Not in this lifetime…

Another person that CNN suggested as a replacement was Tina Fey.  Are they kidding?  Tina is a comedienne and a writer but I can’t see her falling in to the daytime talk show trap.  She would feel confined, I think.

What about Sarah Palin?  Uh, no.  I think Sarah would enjoy her own show a whole lot but I’m not sure people would love her. 

In sheer ridiculousness, they even mentioned Justin Timberlake.  Wow.  What else can you say to that?
