Oprah to Appear on Tina Fey’s "30 Rock"

October 22, 2008 by Jeanne

30 Rock on TV GuideEverywhere you turn these days, it seems that someone is talking about Tina Fey.  Her impersonations of Republican U.S. vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, are almost becoming more popular than Palin herself and have earned Saturday Night Live some of the highest ratings they’ve had in 14 years.

Naturally, with all this attention, more and more people are taking a second look at Fey’s primetime show “30 Rock” which really is a spoof on life behind-the-scenes on a show like SNL

This season, she’s got a great lineup of celebrity guest stars (including Salma Hayek and Jennifer Aniston) and daytime talk show queen, Oprah Winfrey, is among them.  Fey told TV Guide that Oprah will play “a version of herself” in this season’s second episode and added: “This would never have happened if Oprah was not such a woman of her word… I think anyone else would have been like, ‘Oh, come on, I’m not doing that.’ Plus, I think Gayle [King] is a fan of the show, which helped.”

I had already promised myself that I would give the show a try this year and now I have even more reason to tune it.  It should be great!
