The View on Colin Powell’s Obama Endorsement

October 21, 2008 by Jeanne

Republican General Colin Powell came out and supported Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama.  The decision sent shockwaves across the political scene and, of course, Elisabeth Hasselbeck seemed irritated by his choice.

The women on The View also talked about all of the ridiculous controversy surrounding the rumors that Obama is a Muslim.  As Barbara Walters pointed out, people need to focus on the fact that there shouldn’t be an issue even if Obama was a Muslim.  This was a sentiment echoed by Colin Powell (through a clip from a recent interview with the retired General).

I have always had a great deal of respect and admiration for Colin Powell, prior to his early position on going to war in Iraq. It then, took a downward spiral. However after his resignation as i suspect was agreat deal due to this corrupt administration, also his endorsement of Barack Obama has given me a renewed view of Colin Powell. I now believe him to be a moral and just man. It was a little late in comming ,but i am glad it did. Lola
