I think people also need to take a look at the medical industry. I'm currently pregnant and I've been on the Depo shot since 2005. I work with other pregnant girls, most of them under 25, and several of them have also gotten pregnant on Depo and also the ring. The baby industry is a huge money maker- contraceptives, fertility clinics, items needed to care for your baby, the medical bills... it all adds up to fatten someones wallet. Maybe the amount of pregnancies due to failing birth control is no accident. I'm lucky enough to be in a relationship where we were already engaged and were planning marriage for two months when we discovered I was pregnant. For the young women who are trying to get pregnant- you don't realize what's coming your way. Everything changes. Your friends act differently, you can't party like you used to, school and work are extremely difficult, the financial stress, even people in public look at you oddly. You're going to be completely responsible for another human being- one that is going to have to depend on you to keep them alive, healthy, and happy.
