Sylvia Browne Caught Lying On Montel?
June 20, 2008 by Jeanne
Psychic, Sylvia Browne, is a regular on the now-canceled Montel show and, while many people love and swear by her, this episode caused some to pause and use it as evidence that she is a fraud. One female audience member stood up and talked about how her fiancé died but was never found. Sylvia said that he wasn’t found because he is in water. The lady responded and said that her fiancé had been a firefighter in the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. After an uncomfortable pause, Sylvia asked if it was possible that he was actually in water and then offered another explanation. Watch the exchange here:

A lot of people don’t know that the World Trade Center was built on water, & a protective ’shelf’ actually had to be built before the building could be constructed through it. This was in case there was flooding. It’s not surprising that this woman’s husband drowned, because some other people also did, who were later found.
I thought it was hillarious. “He drowned, honey”. I could see if he were knocked out and the sprinklers were on or something…
but she keeps saying he’s in the water, he’s in the water.
Linda, your explanation makes no sense. If it was built ON water and a shelf, how would he have gotten to the ground safe, fallen through this “shelf” and THEN drowned?
And as for the others who “drowned”, proof, please. Post links.
I don’t think she’s lying. She was pretty confident on what she was saying and wasn’t shocked after the lady said she was part of 9-11.
But yes… I can see the point where when she keeps saying “he’s in water” it would be hard to believe, but sometimes the way people pass away are not very believable.
Well if they never found a piece of him, they can’t prove if she is genuine or lying.
Weren’t there vaults below the World Trade center? Maybe he got swept down into them and drowned?
Maybe he even was swept into the river or the sewers.
Trevor – I think anything is possible
I just want to say that sometimes its hard to believe that others see or can correspond to the non living. But if Sylvia said she sees he’s in water perhaps he was. There would have been alot of water used from the sprinklers. He could have succum to the smoke and fell face down in a puddle of water and that would show him in water. She never did say a “body” of water. She simply said “he drowned, I see him in water. None of us can see or know what exactly happened to all the unfortunate individuals in the building. Some died from the fire, smoke, water or debris. And like everyone knows many individuals were never found. So I would say that perhaps she was not lying, its what she saw.
WoW! Some people will believe anything. Linda and all the other psychic blowhards are frauds, making money off of the stupid.
Everyone thinks drowning means lake or ocean, its not not general, its possible to drown on spit. Death caused by water is associated with drowning no matter how big or small the quantity. I dont really believe in sylvia especially since her readings are $850 for about half an hour. but the reason a lot of people drowned at 9/11 and other collapsed building sites is because wen the building collapsed there still is a fire and wen the fire fighters put out the fire they use water and people are burried under sometimes 10 feet of rock and wen they use water to put out the fire the water goes thru the cracks and drowns the people who are burried under the ruble. And this is a fact look it up if u doubt me.
I think when psychics speak they sometimes can only describe what they see (images given by their spirit guides)… and it might not make logical sense… so it takes a very open person (receiving the reading) to be able to decipher it or take in the information to decipher later.
The explanation directly above re. the firefighters using water to put out the fire and all the people that must have been caught below the debris makes logical sense. Another thing that could have happened is this fireman was right below where the water tanks were and when they burst, he drowned… or after the debris was all shipped away on the barges… they were in water and some ashes and debris fell in water… so that is perhaps why the guide provided this image of him in water or said he is in water.
Don’t take a psychic reading so literally. I myself have been given information that I passed on to the recipient and it made no sense to me whatsoever… but I could tell by the big reaction in the person and the shock that I should speak of such a thing, that they said no one knew about that happened 7 years ago… showed me firsthand that I was spot on in what information I had given them. Although to this day… I have no real idea what it was about… and I do not care to know as people’s personal business is their own. I had faith and trust enough in the process to pass the information (given to me) on to the person that needed to hear it.
Psychics help a lot of people… they validate them and/or provide them with insight into what they need to do or how they need to get there. This is a gift that should be honoured and not dismissed and judged. You judge Sylvia for making $850 for a 20-30 minute reading that might change that person’s life. Interesting… because I bet you don’t make a judgement on a sports pro who can sit on the bench all season yet still pull in six figures… and yet who is he helping?
