Ripa Confronts O’Donnell About Homophobia

American Idol star, Clay Aiken, was a guest-host on Live with Regis and Kelly once and, after he felt he couldn’t get a word in edge-wise, he actually reached over and put his hand over Kelly Ripa’s mouth.  Kelly was not pleased with his actions and said “I don’t know where that hand has been.”  Rosie O’Donnell, who was the moderator on The View at that time, said that Kelly’s comment seemed homophobic.  I didn’t agree with Rosie at all on that one (especially since Clay has never said he was gay -she’s just assuming).  To me, Kelly seemed germophobic (as I would be) and it’s just not very respectful to do that to someone regardless of how they are acting. 

Kelly decided to call Rosie on live television and defend herself against the accusations.  Here’s the video:
