June 29, 2008 by Jeanne
The Martha Stewart Show is looking for a few good mothers for an upcoming show! Do you have or know a great mother who deserves recognition? Has she gone above and beyond for you or her community? Is she your hero? Do you want to honor her?
If you answered yes to any or all of those questions, head over to the Martha website and tell them all about the special mom in your life!

Maroon 5 on Good Morning America
June 29, 2008 by Jeanne
Maroon 5 was on Good Morning America on Friday for GMA’s “Summer Concert Series.” They gave some really good performances of “She Will Be Loved” and “If I Never See Your Face Again.” It was great because I’ve seen some of these early-morning go pretty badly for any number of reasons (cold weather, singers who still seem sleepy, etc…) so it was great to see someone on their game.

Man Jumps 35 Feet into a Kiddie Pool!
June 29, 2008 by Jeanne
On Fox News yesterday morning, a man jumped 35 feet into a kiddie pool to break the record for highest dive into a shallow body of water. There was just 12 inches of water in the pool and I think he’s insane!
He did break the record – interestingly, he beat his own record which would suggest, to me, that most people aren’t crazy enough to try this stunt.

Kardashian Sisters on The View – Video
June 28, 2008 by Jeanne
“Keeping Up with the Kardashians” is the highest rated show on the E! Entertainment network and the three most recognizable sisters, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, were on The View yesterday morning where they talked about the possible reasons for their show’s success.
Of course, the conversation had to turn to Kim’s butt, which is world famous! I’ve heard rumors that she was getting it insured (she denies it).

Today Show Exposé on Madonna’s Divorce
June 28, 2008 by Jeanne
Are Madonna and Guy Ritchie getting a divorce after seven years of marriage? I really hope not because breakups are, obviously, very sad but are especially tough when there are children involved. She has a daughter from a previous relationship (Lourdes), a son with Guy (Rocco) and an adopted son (David).
Rumor has it that Guy is particularly unhappy with the fact that Madonna wants to adopt more children. Their official reps have “no comment.”
Boy George Discusses Having Visa Denied
Boy George, who you may remember from his 80s songs “Karma Chameleon” and “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?” has been denied a visa to work in the U.S. just before he was set to start a 24-date tour in the States.
The main reason he’s been given for the denial is the fact that he is currently fighting charges that he imprisoned and assaulted a male escort (wow). The U.S. government feels that he could be a threat. To his credit, Boy George is remaining very upbeat on the matter. It was an interesting interview. Watch it here:
Bette Midler on The View from Caesar’s Palace!
June 28, 2008 by Jeanne
What can I say? Bette Midler is still phenomenal and I just love every minute of her performance! On The View this morning, Bette performed the opening number from “The Showgirl Must Go On” via satellite from Caesar’s Palace and she was fantastic. Does that woman even age (or tire, for that matter!)?
She sounded fabulous and looked just as good (what kind of water is that woman drinking!?). What a way to start the day! Watch her great performance here:
Coldplay Perform on Today Show – Video
June 27, 2008 by Jeanne
British musical group, Coldplay, were on the Today show this morning where they performed their haunting new song “42″ (see the lyrics here) along with the classic “Clocks” and more!
The band just released the album “Viva La Vida” or “Death and All Its Friends” and some have said that it’s depressing while others have applauded the depth of the tracks. I haven’t listened to the whole thing but if this single is any indication, it is beautiful but, as I said, haunting. As usual, Coldplay is thought-provoking.

Rachael Ray: Chipotle Chicken Kebobs
June 27, 2008 by Jeanne
This recipe was actually given to Rachael Ray by Italian chef, Mario Batali (you may know him from shows like Molto Mario and Iron Chef: America).
It sounds absolutely delicious. I really love the flavor of chipotle peppers and, of course, I like chicken so I think I may try this recipe this weekend on the barbeque!
Chipotle Chicken Kebobs *serves four
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup olive oil plus 2 tablespoons for vegetables
- 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, finely chopped
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons salt, divided
- 1 large sweet onion, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 red bell pepper, seeded, cored, and cut into 1-inch squares
Preparation
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the 1/2 cup of olive oil, garlic, cilantro, mint, chili, cumin, jalapeño and 1 teaspoon salt and mix together. Add the chicken pieces and mix so that all the chicken is coated. Transfer to a gallon-size sealable plastic bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours and up to 24 hours.
Prepare a medium hot fire on the grill or barbecue.
While the coals are heating, in a medium bowl, toss the vegetable pieces with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 teaspoon salt. Alternate threading pieces of the chicken with the vegetable pieces on 8 skewers.
Grill for 16 minutes, turning each skewer a quarter turn every 4 minutes, until the meat is no longer pink in the center.
