Ellen Announces That She is Getting Married!

Yesterday, the state of California turned over their ban on gay marriage.  After mentioning this on her show (the audience showed a lot of support for the change in California’s stance on the subject) host, Ellen Degeneres, announced to her audience that she is getting married to her long-time girlfriend, Portia de Rossi, who was in the audience in tears.

This is a huge step for Ellen and for the gay population in the United States.  Ellen joked about announcing who the “lucky guy” is soon.
