January 25, 2008 by Jeanne

Tyra Banks Lead Earlier this month, Tyra talked about the dangers of lead poisoning.  She also used a special kit that, when rubbed on objects, turns red if it contains lead.  Here’s the information from Tyra’s site about the show:

310,000 kids are poisoned every year in the U.S. by lead. Although its effects are limited on healthy adults, it can be deadly for children and pregnant women and children exposed to lead can be poisoned irreversibly for the rest of their lives causing such disorders as ADD, learning disabilities, aggressive behavior, etc. For more information on children and lead, including recalls, visit www.leadsafe.org.

And also check out www.momlogic.com for more on lead poisoning and home safety.
