TMZ.com is reporting that Dr. Phil is being investigated over his visit to Britney Spears in the hospital.  He has never been licensed to practice in the state of California and retired his Texas license in 2006.

Since he has said that he wasn’t trying to lure her onto the show when he went to see her, a complainant (an unnamed psychologist) wants to know why Dr. Phil was there at all.

A Psychology Board representative has told TMZ that if the "Board finds the complaint credible, it would be referred to the D.A. for review. Practicing without a license is a felony in California."

The psychologist who filed the complaint also alleges Dr. Phil violated HIPAA laws by "discussing or divulging a patient’s medical condition … with the media," in reference to a press release issued by Dr. Phil.

The complaint also says, "A petition is being circulated to remove the "Dr. Phil" show from the air." We’re told the shrink is trying to get other psychologists to sign. 

There hasn’t been a response from the Dr. Phil camp.  Honestly, I think this is a bit ridiculous.  A person can be a psychologist without going to provide psychological care to people they visit in the hospital.  I know of lawyers, for example, who give "off the record" advice.  Besides, he has said that his wife, Robyn, is friends with Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears. 

John Legend was on the Today show this morning.  He performed his song "Slow Dance."  He’s always really good live and he even got Today host, Hoda Kotb, to do a little dancing with him!  In case you don’t know, Hoda came on as a co-anchor when the Today show launched their fourth hour.

The lawyer for Dennis Quaid and his wife appeared on the Today show this morning to talk about how their babies were overdosed with Heparin.

Soulja Boy appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly.  Soulja Boy is the first artist to have a song be downloaded 3 million times.

It was pretty funny at the end when he taught Regis and Kelly how to do his signature dance the "Soulja Boy" (I wonder where he thought of the name!).
