The inaugural “BET HONORS” ceremony was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and was created to celebrate the lives of leading African American luminaries. Tyra Banks was recognized for her achievements and contributions as an African American woman for her work on The Tyra Banks Show and America’s Next Top Model.
