Bill Clinton to Promote Book on Oprah
August 27, 2007 by Jeanne

Oprah Winfrey will have former US President, Bill Clinton, on as a guest September 4th (next Tuesday!), which will be his first stop to promote his new book “Giving” (no jokes please, lol) which is a book on philanthropy and civic action that comes out the same day. There’s no promotion like an appearance on Oprah so I’m sure this book is going to sell a lot of copies! I found this article about his scheduled appearance. Here’s some of it:
Winfrey, who interviewed Clinton in 2004 for his memoir “My Life,” has good reason to think highly of the new book. “Giving” praises Winfrey’s “Angel Network,” which has donated millions of dollars around the world, from money for schools in Africa to relief aid for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The book also includes comments from Winfrey, who was asked why she started the Angel Network, and another charitable organization, the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.
“I wanted to give back what I was given, a sense of worth,” she replied. “Everyone wants to matter.”
Clinton has other interviews planned next week, including one with Larry King on CNN and with David Letterman on CBS television’s “Late Show.”
Wow. You hardly get an opportunity like this! Bill comes on Oprah to promote his book and promotes Oprah’s “Angel Network” at the same time and Oprah gives Bill’s book a boost while he praises her charitable work. Talk about a win-win situation! Oh well. At least it’s for a good cause
